Peatland ACTION

Restoring and protecting our peatlands

Colour RGB - PNG - Transparent background - lower resolution - For use with mobile devices

Peatland ACTION is a national programme that supports the restoration of peatlands across Scotland. It is funded by the Scottish Government and delivered in partnership with NatureScot and external partners. Restoration of degraded, eroding and modified peatlands is one of the most effective ways of locking in carbon and offers a clear nature-based solution to both the climate crisis and biodiversity loss.

The Crichton Carbon Centre provides free condition assessments, site surveys and planning for eligible land managers looking to restore their peatlands via this programme. We support the applicant from the initial project development to the completed delivery.

Applications can be submitted any time of the year. If you are a landowner in South West Scotland and wish to apply, please get in touch with us directly by completing the short online form below.
