Crichton Carbon Centre Scholarships for the MSc Applied Carbon Management

The Crichton Carbon Centre will award two prestigious scholarships to postgraduate students for 2011 entry onto the University of Glasgow MSc Applied Carbon Management programme.  The scholarships are awarded on behalf of our sponsors, the leading environmental consultancy RSK and the energy company Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE)

Applications for the 2011 scholorships are now open.  The application forms are available for download below.

To be considered for one of these scholarship awards, you need to have been offered a place for entry (either full-time or part-time) onto the University of Glasgow MSc Applied Carbon Management programme in September 2011.  All UK, EU or international candidates who have been offered a place on the MSc programme are eligible for the awards.   


The RSK Scholarship Award

RSK Group is the fastest growing multi-disciplinary environmental consultancy in Europe, with a dedicated Carbon Management team.  In addition, RSK are also involved in innovative community projects and pro-bono schemes.  RSK Executive Director Garry Charnock is a leading figure in the Ashton Hayes Going Carbon Neutral Project, and a Trustee of Leapfrog, a unique business-led not-for-profit organisation that channels free services from top businesses into activities that deliver carbon reductions. The Crichton Carbon Centre RSK scholarship thus provides an outstanding opportunity for students keen to pursue a career in environmental consultancy.  In addition to a bursary of £4500 the successful candidate will benefit from a personal relationship with RSK, undertaking a summer work placement with RSK and participating in the company’s excellent mentoring programme.

The Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) Scholarship Award

Scottish and Southern Energy (SSE) is the second largest electricity generator and energy supplier and the leading generator of renewable energy in the UK.  In addition, SSE also owns and operates electricity and gas distribution networks, offers contracted services, energy and home services, and operates the UKs largest onshore gas storage site.  The Crichton Carbon Centre SSE scholarship thus provides an outstanding opportunity for students keen to pursue a career in the energy sector.  In addition to a bursary of £2500 the successful candidate will benefit from a personal relationship with SSE, undertaking a paid summer work placement with SSE and participating in the company’s excellent mentoring programme.
