Day and Night.

A smoke test shows where heat is leaking out during the day.

A thermal image camera can show heat leaking out at night.

The more leaks you plug, the higher your score. Plus you can answer true or false questions as you play to increase your score and reduce your Carbon Footprint. The top 10 scores get onto the leader-board. Keep playing to improve your score and beat your friends.

Level screen.

Leaky Buildings has 4 levels. Each level has an increasing number of houses. So the more houses, the more leaks you have to plug.

Level 1 – 3 Houses

Level 2 – 5 Houses

Level 3 – 7 Houses

Level 4 – 9 Houses

Timer.

You have 300 seconds to complete the game. If you don’t complete the game in time i.e. plug all the leaks on all 4 levels, the game will end.

Each level has 2 modes, day and night mode. When you are in day mode, you need to plug the smoke leaks from the window. When you are in night mode, you need to use your insulation to plug the thermal leaks.

Remember to look carefully as hotspots can sometimes be hiding behind trees.

You will start the game off as big foot. The more points you score, the more you will reduce your Carbon Footprint. The aim of the game is to get from a Big Foot to a Twinkle Toes.

When you play Leaky Buildings you are armed with two trusty tools.

Mastic gun – Day mode

Insulation – Night mode

You use the cross-hair to aim at the smoke and thermal leaks. When the cross-hair locks onto the target it will turn green.

Remember - you only have a certain amount of ammunition - so use it sparingly!

If you run out of ammunition the game will end.

Scoreboard

When you successfully plug a leak you will score points.

There are also "true or false" bonus balloons that appear randomly throughout the game. Get the correct answer and you could win lots of extra points. Get the question wrong and you lose points.
