Rachel is a Project Officer at Crichton Carbon Centre. Rachel graduated from the University of Glasgow with a Masters in Marine and Freshwater Biology with an emphasis in Sustainable Development. She has worked for a variety of environmental education and conservation organisations with her main focus being to encourage and engage children in environmental education as well as developing the resources available to both pupils and teachers within a project or organisation.
Rachel works on the Schools project, which is currently running in 18 schools across the region. The project helps pupils and teachers take action to calculate and reduce their school's carbon footprint. The project is an excellent introduction to carbon footprinting for pupils and a good medium for getting the message out into the community.
Rachel has also been involved in a number of other schools projects, helping teach pupils about the importance of local produce and energy efficiency. Rachel is also a Teaching Assistant on the MSc in Applied Carbon Management.
